A few of our donors recently shared the influence that the fraternity has had on them, and why they support Sigma Chi in their alumni years:
• “My best friends are my fraternity brothers.”
• “Sigma Chi has allowed me to be a strong relationship builder, which has helped me in my career. More importantly, it’s allowed me to be a happier person.”
• “I would say the fraternity has completely influenced the person I am today.”
Hasn’t Sigma Chi had a similar impact on you too?
Let us know the ways it has – and
make your annual fund donation – before the giving year ends August 31.

When I was a student at Miami, I took a photography course from John Dome, Director of the Audiovisual Service. After a tour to the Far East for Uncle Sam, and graduate school at Indiana University, I returned to Miami as John’s assistant. It was my privilege to produce two films for the Miami Alumni Association, which may have some interest to brother Sigma Chi’s. Enjoy!
“Football at Miami,” was produced in 1965 for the Miami University Alumni Association, by William Oglesby ’54 of the Miami Audiovisual Service. It is the story of the 1964 football season in which Ernie Kellerman was the Quarterback. Sports Information Director Robert Kurz ’58 wrote the script, with Coach Bo Schembechler ‘51 providing the narration.

It is the story of the history of Miami, based on the book, The Miami Years by Walter Havighurst. Script and ballad were written (and sung) by Paul Yeazell, and narrated by William Utter — both men were on the staff of the Broadcasting Service. The pictorial images for the film came from the mural painted by Edwin Fulwider, then head of Miami’s Art Department. The mural originally hung on the wall of the Heritage Room in the Student Center, but was removed some years ago during a remodeling, and put into storage. Also included in the film are live scenes of the campus and the McGuffey Museum; the film is concluded with a rousing rendition of the Miami Alma Mater sung by the Men’s Glee Club.

Continued... Interact with Sigma Chi BrothersWe’re excited to introduce a new place in our new alumni community, where you can interact directly with groups of Sigma Chi brothers. You can participate in the brotherhood community, create a new group for you and your friends, or join an existing one! Within each group’s page, the members have control over the content. You can upload and share links, videos, photos, events and comments with other members. Create and/or join as many groups as you’d like...such as a group for your pledge class, another for alumni in your major/career field, and maybe another for brothers in your state/region.
