Return to campus is underway

We are happy to be able to tell you that the Alpha Chapter of Sigma Chi at Miami University is formally on the path to recolonization in January 2016.  This has been the product of years of hard work by numerous Alpha Sigs with a dedication to bring the Alpha chapter back to campus as strong as ever.

While details are still being finalized, it is likely recruitment will begin second semester of the 2015-2016 school year, with a January 2016 rush. As most are aware, the Sigma Chi house at 401 East Sycamore had been rented to the FIJI’s during Alpha’s hiatus. The FIJI’s have moved out and renovations are under way to return the house to its previous luster. We will be posting updates on the renovation, including volunteer and donation opportunities.

We will focus our recruiting around referral from our alums.

As we all look forward to the return of our beloved chapter to Miami, we know it is the brothers who make for a great house. To that end, it is time to begin recruiting the next generation of Miami University Sigma Chi’s. Recruiting will be a combined effort of Sigma Chi Headquarters and local alumni. Preston Lee, Associate Director of Expansion from Sigma Chi Headquarters in Evanston, IL will be the point person. To that end if you know of an outstanding young man attending Miami University (or who will be attending in 2016), please let Preston know about him. Preston can be reached at preston.lees@sigmachi.org or at (847) 869-3655 ext. 254.
